मायादेवी

Mayadevi
Queen Maya of Sakya, the Buddha's Mother
(Tib. Lhamo Gyutrulma)

This is a preliminary sketch for a 60 cm x 40 cm thangka. It was a bit challenging composing the drawing,
as this scene on its own
is not commonly a subject for thangka, but is usually found on temple wall paintings
as part of the Buddha's life story. It may take a month or so before this thangka is completed.
