started to draw the billowing clouds beneath the Buddhas & Bodhisattvas,

 rainbows, flowers and decorative pattern on Guru Rinpoche's body halo:

last week completed drawing all the figures with implements, clothes, seats.

this coming week i will work on drawing the offerings on the bottom part of the thangka.

it will consist of mount meru and the mandala offering including the offering godesses and the

eight auspicious symbols.

 basic body lines for the Buddhas of the Ten Directions

The Eight Great Bodhisattvas.

Drawing the ornaments and clothes. This is a bit of a challenge as i cannot see the details of the original thangka clearly, especially the hands and symbols; also i had difficulty identifying each Bodhisattva in the original thangka. I learned that there is no standard iconography for them and are sometimes depicted in various colours. I decided to not copy what i cannot clearly see so i researched the various ways these Eight Great Bodhisattvas are depicted in other thangkas.
